Dew collection for water

by Joe
(U.S)

If you are in an area with tall grass and you can spare it, take off your shirt and tie it around your shin as you start walking. When it gets wet enough, untie it and wring it out over your mouth.

The water is completely potable.

Saw it on Bear Grylls' 'Man vs Wild'.

Dew

Sure any water is potable as long as you take the steps nessary to clean it up. Yes dew is pretty clean water once collected but remember you are putting things into that water by "mopping" it up. I always "clean" my water once collected.

Remember the rule of thumb here
filter + purify = safe to drink.

Once the dew is collected you should atleast purify it (as long as you don't see any debris in it)

If you see debris you should filter it too.

Just my 2 cents i've become violently ill by drinking water I thought was potable.
