Use FATWOOD and 1 match

I bought a package of Fatwood (check Wikipedia for more info), shaved it, and poof, an instant fire! I was shocked at how well and how little I needed.

I used a single match with a Fatwood stick 10 mm x 100 mm. It burned for about 10 minutes. The heavy resin in the wood really lights quickly.

water proof matches

Why are people still carrying water proof matches when there are so many better products around lighters , firesteel flints eg
