Finding subterranean water

by Naba
(Ana Rech, Rio Grande do Sul)

If you cant find water over the ground, you can seek it under. First, find a piece of wood in form of "Y". Hold it with the both hands, hanging the "arms" of the "Y" leaving the other side to the ground. Hands face up making a little enforcement to open the "Y". Walk around. When you find water, the piece of wood will start to move, line a pendulum.

It takes a little time to practice, but usually it works.

I know it looks weird, but the explanation is that our body can feel the waves of underground water, when you get over it you will make a unconscious movement which we can't see normally, but it reflects in the wood, so there is your water.

you have to Dig for water..preferrably in a stream bed, lowest topographic elevations of or adjacent to healthy green flora that stands out from the rest of the vegetation.

The dangers of groudwater
by: Nomad

I have explored caves for the last 25+ years and understand the dangers of what you suggest. First of all there are many dangers associated with ground water besides just parasites. I do not and have only known of one person that would drink cave water. There are many runoff contaminates including oil, fuel, fertilizer, animal waste just to name a few. This doesn't include all of the trash that ignorant people dump into sinkholes not realizing that it all ends up in thier own drinking water. Contrary to popular belief the water treatment plant can't remove all of the chemical contaminates. As the native americans believed "life is a circle, everything that you do will eventually come back to you"(and potientially make you sick or even kill you.)
There is a major cave system in here in Kentucky that a dairy used to dispose of spoiled milk. It became so contaminated that nothing could live in it. One of the first people to begin re-mapping the cave after the dumping stopped become very ill and died of undiagnosed causes. People who go in now years later still avoid getting in the water and stirring up the contaminates in the sediment and mud.

Hmm...

Um, are you actually suggesting dowsing for water in a survival situation? It's been proven many times over that such things do not work. Hardly something to consider in a life or death situation.
