Multi-tool folding pocket knife

A multi-bladed folding pocket knife is a useful tool and a good complement to your strong fixed blade knife.

Choose one of the larger version of the multi-tool that has all of the tools that are most needed for a survival knife. Some of the tools you will find most useful are wood saw, scissors, can opener and pliers.

Maintenance

To preserve the life of your pocket knife, use the appropriate tools for a job. Probably the most common mistake is to use knife blades as can opener.

- To clean a folding knife, open up all the tools in your knife and rinse it with warm water.

- Scrub it with an old toothbrush. When you have removed all the dirt, again, rinse it with warm water. Handle the knife very carefully when all the blades are out.

- Finally, allow the knife to air-dry and then lightly oil it with sewing machine oil or cooking oil. Wipe off any excess oil with a paper towel. Close the blades.

Don't forget to check if you need to sharpen your knife.
