Lightweight telephone cards

by Tim -Nomad
(Louisville,Ky. & the road)

An item that weighs next to nothing but is very handy is a phone card. These credit card type phone cards can be bought almost anywhere. The AT&T card that I have has an 800 number that allows a person to make calls from landlines as well as payphones.

The AT&T card also has another phone number that allows you to add minutes as you use them up. This feature requires the person to have a regular credit/debit card to charge the additional minutes to.

I have had mine for over 11 years and the minutes don't expire. With this item a person could literally walk out of the wild or disaster area and have the ability to summons help, provided they can find a working phone.
