More on chlorine and water

by Charles McKinney
(Marion, Indiana)

With chlorine, two drops per quart of clear water and 4 drops per quart of cloudy water is the recommended dosage. Cold water, sunlight, particulates and high PH will all slow down the effect of chlorine.

Treat the water, wait 30 minutes, sniff the water, if a slight chlorine odor you're good to go.

If not then add another dose of chlorine and wait another 15 minutes and sniff again.

If still no odor of chlorine discard the water because something is neutralizing the chlorine and the water will NOT be purified.

Good stuff on chlorine

Good info. Didn't know that you had to check to see if there was an odor.
