Pure water in minutes

by Thomas
(Canada)

1. Dig a hole 1m x 30cm.
2. Dig a water bottle into the bottom of the hole.
3. Collect leaves from nearby trees.
4. Place leaves around water bottle in the hole.
5. Use a clear plastic sheet (like a clear tent ground sheet hint hint) to cover the hole.
6. Bury the edges of the plastic sheet.
7. Place a rock directly above the water bottle, on top of the plastic sheet.

This process works by allowing the sun to vaporize the water in the leaves. The water vapor then condenses on the plastic, and drips down to the lowest point (where the rock is), and water drips into your water bottle.

THIS ONLY WORKS ON SUNNY DAYS, AND WHEN EXPOSED TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT.

Make sure you have the basic wilderness skills to safely enjoy your trip.
