Wildlife safety precautions are important. The wild animals you may encounter in the great outdoors can be beautiful and amazing to watch, but wildlife should be dealt with caution and care.





How to deal with wild animals

As part of your wilderness trip preparation, learn what the different types of wild animals and insects you may encounter, and what approach to use if you encounter them.


Basic safety rules:

• Maintain a safe distance.

• Never feed or approach wild animals.

• If an animal approaches you, it is your responsibility to move away to maintain a safe distance. Always give a wild animal an easy route to get away from you.
