Survivalist Kits
by: israt

One important point that is left out of many survival kit discussions is medicine expiration. A bottle of Ibuprofen indicates *when* it expires, but not *how* it expires. If I take expired pills of a given medication, will it hurt me or just not be effective? Evacuation packs are not updated frequently, and prescription medications cannot always be hoarded — so there needs to be a way for people to figure out what expired meds are safe to take.

Never leave a vehicle in a winter survival situation.

In a winter survival situation, you are better off staying with the vehicle, even if your vehicle has no fuel because rescuers are more likely to find you.

LEDs
by: Anonymous

Changing your turn signals, brake lights, and internal lights to LED bulbs will help keep your car visible while extending battery life. I don't believe there are a lot of options for headlights, but with hazard lights on for a longer period, it could help.
