The gerber big rock is made out of 440a steel which is horrible for a survival knife. I can no longer take your opinion seriously.

Good list overall - I would recommend the RAT Cutlery (now ESEE Knives) offer the Ontario RAT series.

Ontario knives made survival knives for RAT (Randal Adventure Training) survival school. RAT did not renew the contract, and went to ROWEN to make their knives now - they are guaranteed forever no questions asked, fully transferable.

I've heard many complaints on blade forums, other forums, blogs and videos regarding the wide range of durability of the Ontario knives - some were rock solid, some broke quite easily. The variance seems to be particular to the Ontario RAT line (RAT3, RAT5, RAT7) and NOT with the RAT Cutlery RC3, RC5, RC6, etc.
