These work great and are reletively inexpensive. Have used and made these for years and has never failed to start a fire with one coton ball.

Only cotton!

Start by shaving some cotton (preferal) fiber from your socks or t shirt to get starter balls for a spark.

I've been using this method for many years when I can't find any dry natural tinder (or just to lazy to look)you don't need alot of petrolium jelly what I do is slop some into the film canister then pack a cotton ball slop some more jelly in and shove another cotton ball in i'll do this till I can't shove any more cotton in.once the canister is full (35MM camera film canister) I tape it up with electrical tape for waterproofing.

None Better !

This is the best yet. I use these all the time, they light with even the smallest of sparks and they do burn a long time and you can put about 8 in a film canister
Zoneous
